Our film's details by Stella

Certification:
http://www.bbfc.co.uk/what-classification/15

After researching film certification guidelines on the British Board of Classification website ( see link above), I can see that our film would fit a certidficate 15, as the film's main focus is kidnap through gangsterism, so will include mild to strong violence through torture, but will not focus on the injury or use graphic gore. This is because our thriller focuses on the psychological aspects of the situation, and the use of mild torture is not a main aspect, but purely adds to emphasizing how far the character will go for money. Strong language may also be used in our film, to make the characters authentic, and this will be unsuitable for a certificate 12 rating.

Target Audience:
Due to our film being a psychological thriller, our target audience is adults, predominantly18- 35 year olds, as the film's grittiness would appeal to a younger audience, as older adults might find the kidnapping of a young girl distressing, as they are more likely to have children themselves. The film is unlikely to attract an audience younger than this age, as its strong psychological theme makes the storyline intense, which may not appeal to a younger teenagers, who generally want to watch something less complex and serious.

Narrative Structure:

Our Film is not set in chronological order, as our beginning will show the film's last scene, but will not reveal who the kidnapper is. This will be left until the the scene is repeated at the end of the film, where an extra shot will reveal that the girl's kidnapper is in fact her dad. Because of this the film will use restricted narration, causing the audience to try an work out who the kidnapper is throughout the film, meaning our piece will use an enigma code, which will cause our audience to become absorbed in the story.

Similar to films like Pulp Fiction, our narrative will be split into several different sections, which are not told in chronological order. This is to disorientate the audience, but also to keep them guessing and so they can't piece everything together until the end, causing the final twist to have a greater impact.

  1. Re Blog design - again you are i9n danger of presenting reams and reams of written text. Vary it. If talking about age certification, download an image of the BBFC certificate, a definition from their website etc.

Find demographic graphical info on films that are similar and present as evidence

A diagramatical representation of Todorov and how you are different

Equally, you can always discuss one of these elements and upload as a video (VLOG)

Look at this second year blog to see good proactice and get inspired
