Stella's title analysis : The sixth sense

This is a link to the credits of the sixth sense

I have analysed the sequence until 2:45.

Font

  • The font is in capitals, but is a thin typography and the font size is relatively small, which means it makes a subtle impact against the black background, rather than a huge one.
  • the font's colour is a silvery blue which stands out against the black background, but not as boldly as other colours would, which re-enhances the subtleness of the credits, which creates atmosphere.

Transitions
  • The text travels slowly from the screen's background to the foreground, before dissolving. The slow pace creates atmosphere and the dissolve creates a sense of eeriness, as the text is there and then is suddenly gone. This creates a tense atmosphere, which is similar to that of the film.

Music
  • atmospheric, intrumental music is used for the credit sequence, which re-inforces the eeirie atmosphere, which suggests that paranormal activity is a theme in the film.
